Uzbekistan's Chargé d'Affaires Nadir Ganiyev met with Fredrik Alfer, Deputy Director General of the Swedish Ministry of Infrastructure - Head of the Department of European Union and International Relations to discuss the Scandinavian country’s participation in the EU-Central Asia Ministerial Conference on strengthening interdependence that includes transport and energy projects, Dunyo News Agency reports.
During the dialogue, promising directions for the establishment of Uzbekistan-Sweden cooperation in the implementation of infrastructure projects were discussed.
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to continue regular practical contact.
The Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan as well as the European Union’s (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission and the Commissioner for International Partnerships held the 17th EU-Central Asia ministerial meeting on 22 November 2021 in Dushanbe (Tajikistan).
There, the participants welcomed Uzbekistan’s proposal to host 2022 an EU-Central Asia Ministerial High-Level Conference on Connectivity.
