To meet the rising passengers’ demand, Tashkent-Chirchik-Khojikent high-speed intercity electric trains have been put into operation, Uzbekrailways reports.
The construction of new railway crossings has been completed, railway tracks along the section have been repaired, and reinforced concrete pillars have been renewed to meet all modern requirements.
The high-speed electric trains have been introduced starting on 24 September and run weekly on Saturdays and Sundays.
As a result of the development of the schedule, the operation time of the electric train between Tashkent and Chirchik was reduced by 45 minutes, between Chirchik and Hojikent by 15 minutes, and it now takes only 1 hour and 40 minutes to reach the destination in both directions.
Trains depart from Tashkent Yujniy (South) Railway Station and Khojikent Station:
- No. 6429 Tashkent 07:10 — Khojikent 08:53;
- Hojikent No. 6430 09:18 — Tashkent 11:00;
- No. 6435 Tashkent 13:38 — Hojikent 15:19;
- No. 6436 Hojikent 15:44 — Tashkent 17:26.
