President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree "On the celebration of Eid al-Adha", the official Telegram channel of MBU reports.
According to the source, the decree relies upon the decision of the Ulama Council of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan which says that the first day of Eid al-Adha 2022 will fall on July 9 this year.
Scholars based on Islamic sources and astronomical data concluded that the first day of Eid al-Adha in 2022 will fall on July 9, Saturday.
