On July 1, 2022, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Norov received the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Bangladesh to Uzbekistan H.E. Mr Md. Zahangir Alam, the press service of MFA reports.
The officials discussed the current state of Uzbekistan-Bangladesh cooperation in political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres and prospects for its development and touched upon the bilateral efforts within the framework of the UN and other multilateral institutions.
The Ambassador proposed the participation of large Bangladeshi companies in the organization of textile clusters in Uzbekistan, including in the territory of specialized free economic zones, and the implementation of joint investment projects for the production of finished products.
The parties announced that they intend to study the issue of holding the first meeting of the Uzbekistan-Bangladesh businessmen's council in the near future.
