Kyrgyzstan and China have signed a series of agreements aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation, following a high-level meeting between Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev and Chairman of the People's Government of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) Erkin Tuniyaz in Urumqi.

The signed documents include:
- A Memorandum of Intent to establish sister-city relations between the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and Kyrgyzstan’s Chui region.
- An Action Plan for Cooperation in Metrology between XUAR’s Market Supervision and Regulation Administration and Kyrgyzstan’s Center for Standardization and Metrology.
- A Memorandum of Understanding between Jitong Trading Xinjiang and Xinjiang Bank
During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to strengthen political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties. Key topics included optimizing the operation of border checkpoints, enhancing cooperation in energy and agriculture, fostering economic ties between the Aksu region of XUAR and Kyrgyzstan’s Issyk-Kul region, and accelerating the "Two Countries – Two Parks" project. The parties also explored opportunities in tourism and regulatory frameworks for medicine circulation.

The discussions were held within the framework of the second meeting on key areas of Kyrgyz-XUAR cooperation and the 12th session of the coordination group under the Kyrgyz-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
Deputy Prime Minister Torobaev expressed appreciation for the warm reception of the Kyrgyz delegation and stressed the need to implement the agreements reached by both governments.
In turn, Erkin Tuniyaz reaffirmed XUAR’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, emphasizing the region’s readiness to support cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.
Earlier, Bakyt Torobaev also met Xingrui Ma, a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China where they discussed key economic issues, including plans to boost trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and China to $45bn by 2030.
