Kandahar, Afghanistan, exported over 421,000 tons of goods worth $447mn to markets in Pakistan, India, China, the US, the UAE, Sweden, Iran, Turkiye, and Germany between April 2024 and March 2025.

According to the Kandahar Chamber of Commerce and Investment, businesses in Kandahar exported fresh and dried fruits, legumes, minerals, vegetables, and animal products.
Deputy of the Kandahar Chamber of Commerce and Investment, Abdul Baqi Bina stated that Kandahar's foreign exports have surged in the last 11 months.
"The total volume of exports is 421,758 tons, with a total value of $447mn , the majority of which consists of dried fruits," he said.
The biggest destination for Kandahar's dried fruit exports is India that passes through Pakistani territory. Majority of dried fruit exporters have been asking from the authorities for months to expand trade relations with other countries to minimize their reliance on Pakistan, as both countries are witnessing frequent border closures, making it quite difficult for traders to deliver dried fruits to South Asia's biggest economy.
Kandahar officials also mentioned that at present, trade relations with Central Asian countries are also developing and several discussions have been held so far to use Central Asian corridor to export goods in addition to Pakistan.
As reported previously by Daryo, in 2024, Afghanistan's total trade value amounted to $12.4bn, with $1.8bn in exports and $10.6bn in imports, indicating overall growth in the country's trade activities
