Kazakhstan and China’s East Hope Group have signed an agreement to develop one of the largest metallurgy projects in Kazakhstan. The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alibek Kuantyrov, Vice Minister of Industry and Construction Olzhas Saparbekov, and East Hope Group’s General Director Changjun Meng.

The project includes the construction of new production facilities in two regions of Kazakhstan, integrating advanced technologies for the deep processing of non-ferrous metals. It will also expand exports to international markets, including the European Union, Central Asia, and China. Additionally, the project encompasses the development of power generation facilities to support the industrial complex.
Kuantyrov highlighted the strong strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China, facilitated by close ties between Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“This project will introduce advanced technologies, create thousands of jobs, develop the local supply chain, and enhance Kazakhstan’s competitiveness in global markets,” he stated.

The agreement outlines further negotiations on an investment framework, including specific cooperation terms, state support measures, and commitments from both parties. Vice Minister Saparbekov reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s readiness to support the initiative, emphasizing its role in strengthening the country’s position as a regional metallurgy hub and attracting additional investments.
Changjun Meng expressed East Hope Group’s confidence in Kazakhstan’s economic potential and investment climate.
“This project represents a significant step for our company and a major contribution to Kazakhstan’s industrial growth. We are committed to ensuring its successful implementation,” he noted.
Both sides agreed to continue working on the project’s practical implementation, reinforcing long-term cooperation.
East Hope Group is a global leader in non-ferrous metal production, semiconductor technologies, and industrial innovation, with a strong focus on low-carbon industrial development and international investments.
