Uzbekistan Airports puts Tashkent Airport parking facilities up for digital lease auction

Uzbekistan Airports has announced plans to conduct an online auction for the right to lease parking facilities located in front of the international terminal at Tashkent International Airport, as to its press service.

The auction will cover six designated parking areas—P1, P3, P4, P5, P7, and P8—with a combined area of 40,649 square meters and a total capacity of 1,543 parking spaces. The decision to lease these facilities was approved by the company’s supervisory board on April 29.

The lease term is set for three years. The selected operator will be responsible for ensuring continuous operation of the parking areas, including maintenance and security, as well as undertaking investments related to upgrades, reconstruction, and potential expansion of the facilities.

The project includes modernization measures aimed at improving passenger experience. Planned upgrades include the introduction of digital navigation systems and diversified payment options. Infrastructure improvements are also expected to include signage displaying real-time parking availability and the installation of charging stations for electric vehicles.

A key requirement of the lease is the full digitalization of parking operations. This includes the implementation of an automated parking management system with license plate recognition, installation of automated entry and exit barriers, introduction of prepaid parking cards, and development of a mobile reservation service.

The lease agreement will consist of a fixed annual payment determined through the auction process, along with a variable component equal to 5% of the operator’s revenue. The operator will also be required to provide regular reporting and grant access to its accounting systems for oversight purposes.

The starting fixed rental price has been set at UZS 48.778bn (over $4mn) per year, excluding value-added tax. Utility costs, including cleaning services, waste collection, and electricity, will be billed separately.
