President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized Uzbekistan's dedication to safeguarding the rights and interests of its young population in a congratulatory message. Uzbek leader underscored the establishment of a unique vertical system for managing youth affairs within the country. This initiative aims to address various challenges faced by young Uzbeks, including issues related to employment, leisure activities, and social support.
Following recommendations from the Makhalla Seven, 156,000 young men and women have been granted leases on 60,000 hectares of land for 30 years. This move is intended to stimulate economic opportunities and promote agricultural development.
The president praised Uzbekistan's youth for their impressive accomplishments in sports and academics. He highlighted their success with eight gold, 15 silver, and 32 bronze medals at international Olympiads. Additionally, Uzbekistan's national football team achieved a historic qualification for the Olympics for the first time.
"This is such a talented, educated and brave youth we have! These young men and women are worthy representatives of the New Uzbekistan, our priceless wealth and golden fund," the president stated.
The president affirmed ongoing efforts to support and empower the youth, ensuring they continue to play a significant role in Uzbekistan's progress and development.
"It would be right to say that the World Youth Festival, which is taking place in our country for the first time these days, is yet another vivid confirmation of Uzbekistan's high recognition. More than 700 young men and women from 92 countries, heads and officials of more than 20 authoritative international organisations, ministries and departments of foreign countries are taking part in this forum. Most importantly, our young people are gaining more and more friends and partners around the world, and their opportunities to acquire knowledge and professions and participate in global dialogue and cooperation are expanding", he concluded.
