Uzbekistan reported a total volume of completed construction works amounting to UZS 59.1 trillion ($4.7bn) in 5M24, reflecting a y/y growth of 7.2%, the State Statistics Agency reports. Notably, Tashkent led with a construction expenditure of UZS 15.8 trillion ($1.3bn), followed by the Tashkent and Kashkadarya regions with UZS 5.8 trillion ($462.4mn) and 4.1 trillion ($327mn), respectively.
As of early June, small construction firms and microenterprises constituted 58.5% of Uzbekistan's construction sector. Additionally, The Uzbek government aims to recruit 100,000 young individuals into the construction industry, aiming to bolster workforce capacity and sectoral development.
