Oman's prominent supermarket chain, Lulu Group, has procured 2 tonnes of fruits from Uzbekistan, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry's press service reports. An online meeting facilitated by the Uzbek Embassy in Oman connected MilMax Group with Lulu Group International's regional office on June 26. The agreement led to the shipment of cherries, peaches, and apricots to Oman. These fruits will be available for sale through Lulu's supermarket chains in Muscat and local markets.
The exported products have been meticulously packaged to meet international standards. Each product includes a quarantine code providing detailed information about its origin and production in Uzbekistan. Lulu Group International expressed satisfaction with the quality, appearance, and flavour of the Uzbek fruits.
Dilshod Rasulov, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for International Cooperation, discussed plans to enhance exports via Sukhar port, targeting markets in Europe and Africa.
Further collaboration between Uzbekistan and Oman was highlighted during an Uzbek-Oman business forum and bilateral Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings held on July 27. A significant development emerged with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry signing an agreement with Orabi International. Under this agreement, Orabi International plans to allocate 100 square meters of space to the Chamber at the Muscat Shopping Centre. This initiative aims to bolster the visibility and accessibility of Uzbek products in Oman.
Orabi International will also facilitate the transport of Uzbek goods, supporting both direct exports to Oman and transit through the sultanate to third countries.
