Anglesey Food cheques, totalling 3.7 mn registrations, were the most frequent on the Soliq app in Uzbekistan in May 2024, the Tax Committee reports. Residents received approximately UZS 5bn (nearly $400,000) in cashback from these registered cheques.
Havas Food followed with 1.8 mn cheques registered, amounting to UZS 854mn ($68,083) in cashback. Darvoza Savdo ranked third, with 435,000 cheques and UZS 297mn ($23,677) in cashback.
Starting from July 2024, cashback on cash purchases will be discontinued in Uzbekistan, according to the draft law aimed at curbing the shadow economy. Cashback benefits will remain intact for transactions made using bank cards.
Since January 2022, residents of Uzbekistan have enjoyed cashback benefits, following the decree signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in October 2021. Over 5M24 alone, cashback payments totalled UZS 173.2bn ($13.8mn), with Tashkent leading in usage at UZS 89.2bn ($7.1mn), followed by the capital region at UZS 17.3bn ($1.4mn) and the Samarkand region at UZS 11.8bn ($940,732).
