Kazakhstan is ready to further increase the export of processed products to China in the amount of $1bn for 135 commodity items, the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan reported.
The demand for products labeled "Made in KZ" in China has seen a rise, according to Lin Ji, Deputy Minister of Commerce of the People's Republic of China. This statement was made during the 13th meeting of the Kazakh-Chinese Subcommittee on Trade and Economic Cooperation held in Astana.
The meeting was co-chaired by Kairat Torebayev, Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, and Lin Ji, who also serves as the Deputy Chairman for China in international trade negotiations. The discussions highlighted the growing economic ties between Kazakhstan and China, with China being identified as a crucial trading partner for Kazakhstan.
"We achieved the goal set by the Heads of our states to bring bilateral trade turnover to $40bn ahead of schedule. We are aimed at further diversifying the range of Kazakh products supplied to the Chinese market," Vice Minister Torebayev highlighted the achievements in bilateral trade.
Torebayev pointed out the potential of exporting high-quality and eco-friendly agricultural products to China. These include chilled meat products such as small cattle and cattle, fish products, poultry meat and offal, pork, eggs, horse meat, and other high-margin goods.
Kazakhstani producers have been actively participating in major exhibitions like the Shanghai EXPO and the China-Eurasia Expo, showcasing their products and strengthening trade relationships.
Recently, a QazTrade trade representative office was established in Urumqi, aimed at facilitating business interactions between the two countries. Additionally, a partner office has opened in Chengdu, and a trade pavilion is set to launch in Nanjing to further promote Kazakh products.
To enhance trade, the Kazakh delegation urged the Chinese side to expedite the inclusion of Kazakh companies in the register of China's technical institutions, following successful inspections.
Lin Ji confirmed the popularity of "Made in KZ" products in China and suggested opening more representative offices in Nanjing and Chengdu to boost the visibility of Kazakhstani products. Both sides agreed to take joint measures to increase and diversify bilateral trade. They also explored new opportunities for growth in e-commerce, agriculture, and cross-border cooperation.
