Kyrgyzstan plans to export alcoholic beverages to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Economy and Commerce reports. The Kyrgyz trade mission signed a preliminary contract with the Uzbek company KREDO BEST for the supply of high-quality alcohol, including wine, vodka, and cognac.
Uzbekistan's import of beverages and tobacco surged to $58.8 mn in 1Q24, marking an 82% increase from the previous year, according to the State Statistics Agency. Established in May 2022, KREDO BEST specializes in the retail sale of alcohol, with an authorized capital of UZS 50 mn (nearly $4,000).
Earlier, Daryo reported that Uzbekistan is set to lift advertising restrictions on imported alcohol starting January 1, 2025. This decision follows amendments to national legislation, signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in coordination with agreements with the World Trade Organization (WTO). The amended law will remove restrictions on advertising imported beer, natural, and sparkling wines, which were previously limited to domestic products under specific conditions.
