Astana Hub, an international technology park, has announced the launch of the fifth stream of the Silkway Accelerator program in collaboration with Google for Startups, opening doors for Uzbek startups to participate in the innovative startup support initiative.
The Silkway Accelerator program, now in its fifth iteration, invites IT projects at the PMF and Scale stages from Central Asia, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, as well as Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Mongolia. The program aims to nurture and accelerate the growth of startups in the region.
Applications for participation are being accepted until May 24, providing Uzbek startups with an opportunity to leverage the resources and expertise offered by the accelerator program. Since its inception in 2022, the accelerator has received over 1,000 applications and successfully graduated 49 projects.
These companies have collectively achieved a capitalization exceeding $400mn and attracted over $26mn in investments while expanding into various international markets such as the UAE, Türkiye, and the USA.
Several Uzbek startups have already benefited from the Silkway Accelerator, demonstrating growth and expansion. Avlo.shop, a SaaS e-commerce platform, tripled its revenue (MRR) after restructuring its business model during the program. BILLZ, focused on retail business management through process automation, has successfully entered markets in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
Meanwhile, TASS VISION, an intelligent B2B SaaS security system for offline retail, has expanded into Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Türkiye. Additionally, Dalatek, dubbed the "Amazon of fruits and vegetables," experienced an eightfold increase in factoring volume.
Yerbol Akhmetov, Director of the Astana Hub Business Programs Office, expressed optimism about the participation of Uzbek startups in the program. He emphasized the potential for these startups to contribute to the innovative development of the region and highlighted the opportunities for growth and networking provided by the Silkway Accelerator.
The Silkway Accelerator offers a comprehensive three-month offline course designed to facilitate rapid business transformation, strategy development, and profit scaling for participants. Key features include meetings with investors, connections with venture funds and business angels, and access to additional resources and expertise.
