The Asian Development Bank (ADB) pledged $3.5 bn for projects under the 'Uzbekistan-2030' strategy, the bank's press service reports. The announcement was made during the 57th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank, held in Tbilisi on May 4 and 5.
A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev, participated in the event under the theme 'Bridge to the Future'. At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Khurram Teshabaev, and ADB Director General for Central and West Asia, Eugene Zhukov, signed a memorandum for the implementation of the 2025-2027 program, totalling $3.5 bn.
As of today, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) is implementing 29 projects in Uzbekistan totalling $4.2 bn.
Uzbekistan joined ADB in 1995, and ADB's representative office in the country was established in 1998. The total disbursements from ADB to Uzbekistan's sovereign portfolio have reached $12 bn. Last year, ADB disbursed 6 loans and 1 grant for 4 sovereign projects and 2 programs in Uzbekistan.
