President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan warmly welcomed a delegation led by Oman's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi on April 15. The delegation's visit was part of the strategic dialogue between ministers under the "Cooperation Council of Central Asia - Gulf Arab States" framework, presidential press service reported.
Minister al-Busaidi conveyed sincere greetings and well wishes from Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman to President Mirziyoyev. The meeting primarily focused on expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the realms of trade, economy, and investment.
Both parties stressed the need to enhance mutual dialogues and institutional cooperation mechanisms, advocating for regular political consultations, Intergovernmental Commission meetings, business forums, and exhibitions.
Discussions also covered regional issues, including cooperation within the framework of the 2011 Ashgabat agreements.
