Ra'no, the mother of Alisher Kasimov, a Kyrgyz native accused of involvement in the recent terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall in the Moscow region, addressed reporters following her son's transfer to a pretrial detention center. In her statement, she offered insights into her son's background and circumstances surrounding the allegations against him.
Background and Family Life
Alisher Kasimov, a cook at the "Halal" cafe, is described by his 59-year-old mother as a simple man with a desire to help others. He is the father of three minor children and had rented out an apartment, which he acquired through a mortgage, to individuals accused of perpetrating the terrorist attack.
As per Ra'no, her son, known for his trusting nature, rented the apartment to two men from Tajikistan after being assured of their intentions to seek employment in Moscow's construction sector. Despite stating in the rental advertisement that the apartment was exclusively for Russians, Kasimov was enticed by the promise of substantial remuneration, leading him to accommodate individuals from Tajikistan.
Clash with Reality
Responding to questions about the discrepancy between the advertised rental terms and the tenants' nationalities, Rana attributed the decision to financial incentives. She emphasized her son's lack of knowledge about the individuals he rented the apartment to, asserting his innocence in any terrorist activities.
In a poignant defense of her son's character, Rana vehemently denied any involvement or awareness of her son's purported association with terrorism. She reiterated his unfamiliarity with the accused individuals and emphasized his innocence in the matter.
"My son is not a terrorist, he does not know them, he has nothing to do with them," said Alisher Kasimov's mother.
