An active cyclone from West Asia will cross Turkmenistan on 19-20 March 2024, MeteoJournal (Russia) reports.
Strong temperature spikes, heavy rain, thunderstorms, wind intensification and dust storms are expected.
On 19 March, the warm sector of the cyclone is expected to bring hot air masses from Iran. In the Akhal and Mary regions, temperatures will rise to +28...+33°, in the Lebap region, winds up to 13-18 m/s and dust storms.
On 20 March, rains of varying intensity will occur in all regions of Turkmenistan, with strong thunderstorms in some places. Strong winds with gusts up to 16-21 m/s in Balkan, Mary and Akhal regions, 13-18 m/s in Lebap region, dust storm in some regions.
