Turkmenistan's national cybersports team is preparing for the upcoming Central Asian Championship to be held in Uzbekistan this summer, the country's Cabinet of Ministers' Agency for Transport and Communications reports.
Regional competitions will be held in disciplines such as PUBG Mobile, eFootball, Dota 2 and Counter-Strike 2.
Turkmenistan is the first country in the region to register the National eSports Federation. According to its president, Nazar Udeumuradov, his team is performing well on the international stage. Turkmenistan's women's Counter Strike 2 team came second at the recent Central Asian Games.
The team has its own psychologist and physical training specialist to keep the athletes in top shape.
