On February 12, President Sadyr Japarov of the Kyrgyz Republic engaged in crucial discussions with the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, on the sidelines of the World Government Summit in Dubai, presidential press service reported.
The meeting marked a significant step towards enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two nations. President Japarov and Minister Al Mazrouei delved into various aspects of collaboration, including diplomatic, trade, and economic ties, as well as the joint implementation of infrastructure and energy projects.
One of the key highlights of the talks was the reaffirmation of commitment to previously agreed-upon initiatives. President Japarov underscored the importance of the construction of a solar power plant by Masdar, expressing Kyrgyzstan's dedication to fulfilling its obligations within the framework of this project.
Moreover, President Japarov recalled the invitation extended to the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to visit Kyrgyzstan officially. He expressed confidence that such a visit would significantly bolster the bilateral relations between the two countries.
In response, Minister Al Mazrouei conveyed gratitude to President Japarov for his participation in the World Government Summit and extended greetings from the UAE leadership. He expressed satisfaction with the progress of discussions and revealed plans for the submission of significant documents for signing during the anticipated visit of the UAE President to Kyrgyzstan. Additionally, Minister Al Mazrouei disclosed intentions to open the UAE Embassy in Bishkek in the near future, signifying a deepening of diplomatic ties.
Highlighting further initiatives, Minister Al Mazrouei announced the forthcoming visit of a UAE trade mission to Kyrgyzstan. The mission, comprising representatives from prominent Emirati companies, aims to bolster trade and economic relations between the two nations.
