Turkish firm Warboots is set to invest $50mn into the manufacturing of military footwear in Uzbekistan Uzcharmsanoat reports. This substantial investment underscores the company’s confidence in Uzbekistan’s economic potential.
During a forum held in Bursa, Türkiye, representatives from the association, along with members of leather and footwear companies, agreed to collaborate with local enterprises to produce goods under Turkish brands. Additionally, there are plans to outsource footwear production to Türkiye.
Plans for the project implementation
At the outset, $15mn will be injected into the project. This capital infusion will kickstart the establishment of a state-of-the-art footwear manufacturing facility. Once the plant is operational, it is projected to generate over 4,000 new jobs, providing employment opportunities for local communities.
Warboots aims to manufacture specialized footwear on an eight-hectare site within the Akhangaran small industrial zone. In March, company representatives will visit Uzbekistan to assess land plots and explore local production prospects. This fact-finding mission will pave the way for efficient project execution.
The companies San+One and KFK, operating under the brand Gratto, have explored the potential for establishing joint production ventures in Uzbekistan with intentions to export products to Italy and CIS countries. Initially, production will commence in Türkiye, but there are future plans to relocate part of the operation to Uzbekistan.
Export Prospects
With full project implementation, WARBOOTS aims to export footwear products worth $700mn. This export-oriented approach aligns with Uzbekistan’s broader economic goals.
Furthermore, the Turkish brand Myfit is contemplating outsourcing production to Uzbek enterprises, with preliminary agreements already in place for creating sample product models and supplying raw materials.
