Uzbekistan is set to mark a historic milestone with the establishment of the first-ever private airfield in the country, heralding a groundbreaking development in the aviation sector. The project, situated in the Yangi Hayot mahalla (neighborhood) of the Akhangaran district within the Tashkent region, was formalized through an agreement signed during the Uzbek-Chinese business forum held in Shenzhen, Uzbekistan Retail reported on January 31.
The private airfield project boasts 100% participation of Chinese capital, with an estimated cost of $380 mn. Construction of the private airfield is scheduled to commence in the latter half of this year, marking the initiation of a transformative project that aligns with Uzbekistan's broader development goals.
The venture holds promise not only for the Tashkent region but also for the broader Central Asian region, introducing a novel dimension to the aviation landscape.
Also, plans are underway for the implementation of seven joint investment projects valued at $56 mn in the Akkurgan region of Uzbekistan, city administration of Tashkent region reported. The projects encompass a range of industries, including the production of knitwear, fabrics, synthetic mattresses, footwear, and building materials.
Meanwhile, the Kuyichirchik region of Uzbekistan is set to witness the establishment of three joint industrial enterprises, with a combined value of $33 mn. Simultaneously, companies in the region have inked export agreements totaling $50 mn with Chinese partners.
The city of Nurafshan's khokim (mayor), Ilkhom Klichkhanov, has entered into a significant agreement with Zhejiang Field, a Chinese company, for an investment of $50 mn. This collaboration focuses on the construction of an electrical engineering enterprise, a business center, and a residential complex in Uzbekistan.
Preceding these agreements, Zoyir Mirzaev, the khokim (mayor) of the Tashkent region, had successfully negotiated a $10 mn investment for the construction of a modern recreation area in Aktash, Bostanlyk district.
