German carbon black distributor PentaCarbon has entered an "exclusive cooperation" with TurkmenCarbon (Eziz Dag Group) for the supply of thermal black N990 in the European market.
The partnership is made ahead of European Union’s sanctions on the imports of Russian carbon black, which will come into force in July, the company said in a press release. "This project provides additional capacity of thermal black to European market."
Turkmen Carbon is the largest producer of carbon black in Central Asia.
Traditionally, this products is uses in the rubber, metallurgy and plastics industry as a filler that gives strength and wear resistance to rubber, improving its performance.
TurkmenCarbon's production complex has a design capacity of 10 kilotonnes of carbon black per year (thousand tonnes per annum). Adding to the expansion momentum, the company recently opened a new facility in the country's Mary region with a design capacity of 3,000 tonnes per year.
