The Ambassador of Italy to Kazakhstan, Marco Alberti, announced the upcoming establishment of the Italian-Kazakh Cultural Center for Creative Industry in Kazakhstan this year, as conveyed during a meeting on January 10 with Kazakhstan's Minister of Culture and Information, Aida Balayeva, the ministry’s press service reports.
Balayeva underscored Kazakhstan's significant commitment to fostering cultural and artistic collaborations with European nations, emphasizing the historical prominence of Italy as a key center of world art.
“Italy is one of the key centers of world art with a long history. Mutual cultural enrichment has a great influence on the rapprochement of our countries. We are interested in developing cooperation in museum affairs, music education, touring activities, restoration of museum exhibits, and advanced training for museum staff,” Balayeva said.
Alberti expressed a strong desire for collaboration with Kazakh universities in these endeavors. “The institute’s main mission is to popularize the Italian language and culture, attracting attention to new creative talents. In this regard, we are very interested in cooperation with Kazakh universities,” he said.
Minister Balayeva pointed out the significance of Kazakhstan's participation in the Venice Biennale 2024 international art exhibition, scheduled from April 20 to November 24. She noted that alongside the exhibition of works by Kazakh artists, the national pavilion would host art master classes. Balayeva envisioned this cultural platform as an opportunity for visitors to gain a deeper understanding of Kazakhstan's historical and cultural heritage through the creativity and artistry of Kazakh craftsmen and talents.
