Kyrgyzstan's "Chakan HPP" is making strides in renewable energy with its pioneering project, constructing a floating solar power plant in the daily regulation basin at HPP-5, 24.kg reports.
The initiative is backed by grant funds from the Asian Development Bank. The project has reached a significant milestone with the installation of the main equipment, including the floating section with a capacity of 95 KW, and the ground section with a capacity of 5 KW, at designated locations according to the project design. Additionally, experts have successfully connected a panel to the transformer substation and laid power cables.
Earlier this year, The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan allocated 621.4mn soms, equivalent to approximately $7mn, from its 2024 republican budget project. This allocation is designated for the preparatory work required for the construction of the Kambarata Hydroelectric Power Station, also known as Qambarota HPP-1.
Another important change in Kyrgyzstan's legislation this year was that Sadyr Japarov has authorized the placement of a 30 MW mining farm at the Kambar-Atinskaya HPP-2. The president confirmed the operation of a mining farm in Kemine, Chui Region, which received state approval. The electricity is sold to this company at the highest tariff of $0,058 per KW.
