Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan News: Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are set to launch a joint production of 12 car models in 2024, marking a significant milestone in the economic cooperation between the two nations, as per Kabar News Agency.
Altyn-Tulpar car assembly plant
The Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Daniyar Amangeldiev, announced that the Altyn-Tulpar car assembly plant is currently being prepared for commissioning.
He stated, “A joint project with UzAvtoSanoat. I think next year it will already reach its designed capacity. Construction and commissioning work is being completed.”
Financing project
The project is financed by the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund. The fund was established to strengthen economic cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic, modernize and develop the economies of the two countries, as well as effectively use the opportunities of bilateral cooperation by financing priority mutually beneficial investment projects.
Three stages of production
Stage One
During the first three years, 10,000 cars and commercial vehicles will be produced. 500 people will be involved in production. Localization will be 5-10%.
Stage Two
The second stage will include organizing the production of automotive components and increasing capacity to 20,000 cars and commercial vehicles. Localization will be 15-20%, and the number of jobs will be 1000.
Stage Three
Subsequently, production volume will increase to 30,000 cars and commercial vehicles, and the number of employees at the enterprise will be 2000 people.
