Former Minister of Agriculture, Aziz Voitov, has been incarcerated following recent disclosures by the Supreme Court regarding a criminal case, the court's press service reveals the reasoning behind the arrest.
The case was addressed in the Yashnabad District Court, which focuses on criminal cases. A.V., a man born in Tashkent in 1980, who formerly served as the Minister of Agriculture, is under suspicion for offenses outlined in Article 167 (embezzlement or fraud-based robbery) Part 3, Clause "a," and Article 205 (abuse of power or authority).
The Yashnabad District Court considered the case, reviewing the submitted documents, and, as per the decision dated December 14, 2023, granted the request of the Deputy Prosecutor General of the Criminal Code. Consequently, the suspect A.V. was ordered to be detained and placed in an investigative detention center in accordance with Article 221 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The minister was dismissed from his duties on October 25 of this year.
