Expressing deep concern for the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and the Middle East, he urged comprehensive measures to prevent civilian casualties and violence, emphasizing the need for an immediate negotiation process to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on the "two states" principle, as outlined in the resolutions of the Security Council and the UN General Assembly.
The situation in Afghanistan was also a central point of discussion, with President Japarov emphasizing Kyrgyzstan's commitment to a peaceful and stable Afghanistan. He expressed support for multilateral negotiation processes and commended the efforts of the interim government of Afghanistan to fulfill its international obligations.
President Japarov announced the signing of significant documents related to peacekeeping activities. This includes updating the composition of peacekeeping forces and deploying peacekeeping contingents of CSTO member states, facilitating the practical involvement of the CSTO peacekeeping contingent in UN peacekeeping operations.
Supporting the appointment of Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov from Russia as the Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, President Japarov also approved organizational and staffing changes, including the establishment of a new award and documents regulating the organization's financial activities.
A notable announcement was the transfer of the Deputy Secretary General position to Kyrgyzstan in January 2024. President Japarov approved Taalatbek Masadykov, the Special Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic for Special Assignments, as the candidate for this position.
