As Ambassador Jahongir Ganiev concludes his diplomatic tenure, a meeting with Spanish Secretary of State Angeles Morena Bau highlighted his significant contributions to fostering sustainable bilateral relations.
Ganiev, who began his role in Madrid in 2017, has played a key role in developing ties between Uzbekistan and Spain. The meeting concluded with mutual confidence in the continued success of bilateral relations and the realization of previously established agreements.
Ganiev's diplomatic career includes various prominent roles, such as Ambassador to Italy from 2007 to 2012, concurrently serving as Permanent Representative to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and the World Food Program (WFP).
In 2018, he assumed the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Spain, further solidifying diplomatic connections. Additionally, he took on responsibilities as Permanent Representative to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and, in 2020, as ambassador to the Vatican and part-time representative to the International Olive Council.
