The Qatar National Cement company, a prominent entity in the construction materials industry, is actively engaged in production projects in Uzbekistan.
As per the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade, discussions were held between Laziz Qudratov and the company's executive director, Essa Kaldari. The talks centered on the expansion of their mutually advantageous collaboration and explored the potential for joint ventures in construction materials production.
Both parties reached a consensus to take collaborative actions in order to expedite the commencement of work on the discussed projects and further strengthen their partnership.
A day prior to this, representatives from the Qatar National Cement company had a meeting with the leadership of the Council for the Development of the Construction Materials Industry. During this meeting, an agreement was reached to implement innovative, energy-efficient, export-oriented, and import-substituting joint investment initiatives in the construction materials sector, utilizing the existing raw material reservoirs in various regions of Uzbekistan. Additionally, discussions yielded agreements regarding the engagement of highly skilled professionals for workforce training and the exchange of expertise through globally accredited testing laboratories.
For reference, the Qatar National Cement company has been in operation since 1965 and stands as one of the largest companies in the region specializing in the production of construction materials. It effectively satisfies 100% of Qatar's cement demand and boasts an annual production capacity of 8mn tons. With an annual income of $1bn in 2022, the company employs around 2,000 individuals.
