Uzbekistan is hosting a significant business meeting on November 8 in Tashkent, on the eve of the planned XVI Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit. This business forum plays a crucial role in strengthening international economic partnerships and brought together leaders and representatives from the ECO member states.
The event is represented by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the ECO Secretariat, attracting more than 300 delegates from member states.
Participating nations included Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Turkey.
The forum focuses on discussing the current situation and enhancing perspectives while promoting and activating trade and economic cooperation within the ECO framework.
The key objective of this business forum is to bolster economic collaboration among ECO member states, foster new connections between Uzbek entrepreneurs and member countries, and engage in constructive discussions on expanding international cooperation.
In recent years, Uzbekistan and the ECO have built a robust partnership under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoev. This partnership has laid a strong foundation for effective and long-term cooperation, both within the organization and with countries outside the ECO.
Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Khodjaev, and Deputy Secretary-General of the Organization of Economic Cooperation, Kashif Zaman, commended the determination of business communities from ECO member countries to establish mutually beneficial partnerships.
The primary objectives of the forum includes showcasing Uzbekistan's regional and industrial potential, attracting foreign ECO member companies to invest in new projects within Uzbekistan, strengthening institutional ties between Uzbekistan's Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the chambers from other ECO member states, and increasing the number of transactions within the framework of business councils.
