"We need a peaceful and stable Afghanistan" President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at Turkic States Summit

"We need a peaceful and stable Afghanistan" President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at Turkic States Summit

At the summit of the Organization of Turkic States on November 3, Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev delivered a passionate plea to ensure that the flow of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan remains robust and uninterrupted. Mirziyoyev emphasized the vital importance of maintaining support for the Afghan people during these critical times.

The Uzbek President's address centered on the necessity of a peaceful and stable Afghanistan that actively engages in regional partnerships and fosters economic cooperation with its neighboring countries. He underscored the urgency of developing concrete mechanisms to address the pressing social issues within Afghanistan while continuing the provision of essential humanitarian assistance to its population.

"We need a peaceful and stable Afghanistan that actively participates in the processes of regional partnership and economic cooperation with all its neighbors," President Mirziyoyev emphasized during his speech.

One of the significant proposals put forth by President Mirziyoyev was the initiative to construct the Trans-Afghan railway, a project designed to enhance regional connectivity and facilitate economic collaboration among the countries in the region. This infrastructure development initiative aligns with the broader goal of stabilizing Afghanistan and enabling it to play a more constructive role in the geopolitical landscape.

Uzbekistan has remained steadfast in its commitment to providing essential humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people. The nation continues to extend this assistance through its logistics hub in Termiz, which has been crucial in facilitating the flow of aid into Afghanistan. Furthermore, Uzbekistan intends to continue its efforts to educate and train Afghan citizens through its Education Center.

"We call for the development of specific mechanisms aimed at solving acute social problems in this country, not to weaken the provision of humanitarian aid to the Afghan people. We need a peaceful and stable Afghanistan that actively participates in the processes of regional partnership and economic cooperation with all its neighbors," President Mirziyoyev reiterated during his speech.
