The Ministry of Health's press service has announced an expansion of pharmaceutical cooperation with Afghanistan. A delegation led by Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister, Jamshid Khojayev, traveled to Kabul to enhance collaboration with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
During this visit, industry officials, under the leadership of Abdulla Azizov, who heads the Pharmaceutical Network Development Agency, participated in the "Made in Uzbekistan" exhibition held at the International Business Center. Over 300 medical products were showcased at this event.
Hamid Formuloy, the Director of the Pharmaceutical Service at Afghanistan's Ministry of Health, proposed streamlining the registration process for pharmaceuticals and products manufactured in Uzbekistan for export to Afghanistan. Practical assistance will be offered to facilitate cooperation with Afghanistan's National Food and Drug Association, which is responsible for registering medical products.
Discussions during these meetings also encompassed the import of medicines, medical equipment, and healthcare supplies from Uzbekistan to private hospitals in Afghanistan. Additionally, the prospect of sending patients from Afghanistan to Uzbekistan for medical treatment was considered. Dr. Muhammad Hashim Wahaaj, a member of the Afghan Business Advisory Council responsible for healthcare matters, was involved in these discussions.
Furthermore, an agreement was reached to organize a visit by an Afghan delegation to Uzbekistan. This visit aims to familiarize Afghan representatives with Uzbekistan's medical products and treatment processes.
