A recent earthquake in western Afghanistan has had devastating consequences, leading to the flattening of entire villages. With over a thousand casualties reported and thousands more left without homes and livelihoods, the humanitarian situation is dire.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has promptly initiated relief efforts to address the escalating humanitarian needs. Their actions are centered around their warehouse in Termez, Uzbekistan, where they are providing support to affected families in Injil district, Afghanistan. This district bore the brunt of the destruction caused by the Herat Earthquake.
