A National Association for Healthy Lifestyles and Fitness has been established in Uzbekistan, as reported by the National Olympic Committee's press service. The inaugural conference for this association was held on October 18.
Odil Abdurakhmanov, who has been serving as the Head of the Department for Social Development at the Presidential Administration since August, and previously held advisory roles on youth, science, education, healthcare, culture, and sports, has been elected as the Chairman of the association.
The association's Vice Chairpersons include Alisher Saidullaev, Deputy Minister of Youth Policy and Sports, the Director of the Youth Affairs Agency; Shokhrukh Daliev, a responsible staff member at the Cabinet of Ministers; Jahongir Navruzov, the leader of "BeFit Pro"; and Mokhira Karimova.
The establishment of this association was outlined in a Cabinet of Ministers resolution in September. The document aims to promote healthy lifestyles among the population, advocate for healthy eating principles, introduce effective mechanisms for proper nutrition, and enhance physical activity by popularizing fitness.
