The Russian company TechnoNICOL is planning to construct a plant for the production of building materials in Angren, Uzbekistan, aiming for a 2025 launch.
The total investment for this project is estimated at $13mn. TechnoNICOL's decision to invest in this facility is influenced by the significant growth in Uzbekistan's construction industry, with construction volumes having quadrupled over the past seven years, which has subsequently increased demand in the construction materials market.
The planned plant will focus on the production of thermal insulation materials, including slabs designed for insulating foundations, buried structures, floors, facades, and roofs. It will encompass the construction of the plant itself, a storage warehouse, and an asphalt site covering an area of 1.5 hectares.
Furthermore, TechnoNICOL is looking to expand its market presence in the region. The company intends to export its products to neighboring countries such as Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan through its newly established facilities in Uzbekistan. This expansion is part of TechnoNICOL's strategy to explore new markets after facing sanctions that restricted its access to the European market.
In a related development, a Chinese company is planning to build a copper processing plant in Fergana, Uzbekistan.
