On October 18, a significant meeting took place between the Minister of Justice of Uzbekistan, Akbar Tashkulov, and the Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ulvi Mehdiyev. The rendezvous was part of a broader visit by a delegation from Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan, aimed at strengthening ties and exchanging knowledge on public service and social innovation.
During the meeting, Minister Tashkulov enthusiastically shared insights into the extensive reforms being undertaken in Uzbekistan's public service sector. He revealed that the country has established a network of 208 modern population service centers throughout all districts and cities of the nation, providing 309 distinct types of services. Moreover, he emphasized an ambitious goal to increase the number of available state services to 350 by the end of 2023.
In response, Ulvi Mehdiyev elaborated on the endeavors of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovation in Azerbaijan, highlighting their focus on four key areas: public services, digitization, innovations, and social projects. Notably, he outlined the significance of "ASAN-KIDMET" centers in delivering a comprehensive range of over 320 services offered by state entities, private organizations, and communal services. These centers have become a hallmark of streamlined and accessible public service delivery in Azerbaijan.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to further cooperation and the exchange of expertise between the two countries, recognizing the potential for valuable insights from their respective public service reforms.
As a part of the visit, the Uzbek Ministry of Justice organized a tour for the Azerbaijani delegation, providing them with an opportunity to explore the museum dedicated to justice bodies and the process of creating media materials related to legal topics. This cultural exchange offered a unique insight into the history and current activities of Uzbekistan's justice sector.
