In order to ensure sustainable development and achieve the goals of the global agenda for the period up to 2030, Turkmenistan is consistently implementing its transport policy together with Uzbekistan.
Chairman of the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan Saparmyrat Ovganov wrote in his article on the pages of the newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan.
"Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are trying to use the full potential of the Turkmenbashi International Sea Port and the country's international multimodal route Asia-Pacific Region (APR)-China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Europe".
The article talks about the steps being taken to increase the number of flights and the volume of international multimodal transport China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan.
Ovganov notes that Turkmenistan is also ready to work together to develop the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Caspian Sea transport route and further through Black Sea ports with access to Europe. A new international transport and transit corridor Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman-Qatar is being built at this stage, he said.
Turkmenistan's border with Uzbekistan is the longest among its neighbours - about 1,700 km.
