How do Central Asian nations respond to conflict between Israel and Palestine?

How do Central Asian nations respond to conflict between Israel and Palestine?

Hamas declared a military operation against Israel on October 7, resulting in 5,000 rockets and shells fired towards Israel on the same day. While gunfire persists in several Gaza locations, the people have begun a revolution and are returning to nation-building. The head of Hamas' military wing, Muhammad Deif, has urged 'everyone with a rifle to take it out'. However, the Israel Defense Forces claim that the militants do not have complete control. Despite claims by Israeli authorities, residents, Amnesty International, and other human rights organizations, a senior Hamas spokesperson stated that militants did not target civilians. Daryo's editorial team has thoroughly gathered key comments from Central Asian countries thus far.

    Uzbekistan

'The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan expresses its grave concern at the escalation of the situation in the zone of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, which has resulted in numerous civilian casualties and has significantly aggravated the case in the entire Middle East.

We call on the warring parties to take all measures to bring the armed confrontation to an early end and resolve the crisis through political and diplomatic means.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Israel called on fellow citizens not to leave safe places. In an emergency, please contact +972544851397, 03-672-2466,' the message reads.

    Kyrgyzstan

The official document of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes:

The Kyrgyz Republic expresses grave concern and alarm at the severity of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which has resulted in many casualties and destruction.

We call on all parties to the conflict to cease hostilities immediately and begin political and diplomatic dialogue as soon as possible to achieve peace, ensuring the security of the civilian population and stabilizing the Middle East region.

    Kazakhstan

Daryo's correspondent from Kazakhstan attended the weekly briefing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he reported some information related to the fighting in the Middle East.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Israel has 77 persons on the consular register, including the staff of the Embassy and members of their family. Five Kazakhstan students are studying at Israeli universities, and about 30 Kazakhstanis are studying at various medical institutions in Israel—a total of 112 people.

For operational interaction with them, a special chat was created in the messenger, which currently includes about 200 citizens of Kazakhstan temporarily and permanently residing in Israel. In this chat, our compatriots report their location, exchange contacts with diplomats who advise them on various issues, and provide consular legal assistance, - said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the department's official spokesperson, Aibek Smadiyarov, 118 Kazakhstanis expressed a desire to return to Kazakhstan by this hour. The Embassy of Kazakhstan, together with the airline Air Astana, is also working on forming a list of citizens willing to return to Kazakhstan and organizing their further removal to a safe place,.

'We call on the parties to search for political instruments to resolve the situation peacefully and not to resort to actions that can lead to further escalation of the situation not only between the two states but also in the Middle East as a whole,' the message reads.

    Afghanistan

The Taliban expressed support for Palestine against a backdrop of escalation. They called on the region's countries and the world community 'to prevent Israeli violence and resolve the Palestinian question by giving the Palestinians their legitimate rights.'

The foreign ministry closely follows the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and 'considers the occurrence of such events as a result of Israel's violation of Palestinian rights'. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan supports the legitimate, historical, and legal ownership of the Palestinians to have an independent country on the historical soil of the Palestinians.

    Tajikistan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the following statement:

The sharp escalation of tension in the Middle East, which has resulted in significant civilian casualties and the destruction of housing and social infrastructure, has been received with great concern in Tajikistan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan strongly condemns the acts of violence and calls upon the parties to end the violence immediately and engage in dialogue to normalize the situation.
