The annual convention of the World Boxing Federation (WBC) is set to take place in Tashkent in November 2023, marking the first time it will be hosted in Central Asia. This prestigious event is scheduled for November 12-17 and is expected to draw participation from renowned boxing stars worldwide.
The upcoming 61st WBC convention promises to be a star-studded affair, with iconic figures from the boxing world, such as Kostya Szew, Evander Holyfield, Amir Khan, and even popular social media influencer and blogger Abduroziq, confirming their participation. The event is also going to witness legendary boxer Mike Tyson as he has confirmed his presence in Tashkent through a video message.
Additionally, a boxing night is scheduled for November 17 at the "Humo Arena," featuring Uzbek boxers Mujibillo Tursunov and Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov. Simultaneously, Anvar Turopov and Suhrob Kayumov will compete for the Central Asian WBC belt.
The decision to host the WBC convention in Tashkent underscores the growing prominence of Uzbekistan in the world of professional boxing.
