Currently, president of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is addressing the International Congress Center with a presentation on the priority tasks for entrepreneurial development in Uzbekistan. The President highlighted the issue of accessing new markets with high-quality and competitive products.
"We cannot sell our existing petroleum products; they are needed by our people. This year, we have done a lot about it, and our people will notice it during the winter. One thing needs to be understood correctly: we cannot achieve high economic growth by selling oil and gas resources, as some countries do. Our oil and gas are valuable and high-quality products that resourceful entrepreneurs like you create from raw materials," stated the head of the state.
It was emphasized that for products to be of high quality, in demand, and competitive in foreign markets, a substantial increase in production is required, taking it to an entirely new level.
Considering that due to the international situation, logistic costs have increased by 3-4 times, the state consistently continues to support exporting enterprises. Their financial opportunities will be further expanded.
An additional $100 mn will be allocated to compensate for logistic expenses. Another $25 mn will be directed towards certification of products abroad, implementation of international standards, and training specialists in this field.
The program "New Uzbekistan – a country of competitive products" will be continued this year, and the number of enterprises covered by the program will be increased to 500. All incentives in the program will be extended to them.
Earlier, Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that in the first six months of 2023, the number of inspections decreased by 40% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. It's noted that over the past year, the number of small entrepreneurs increased by 40,000, medium-sized ones by 2,000, reaching 10,000 in total. The number of large enterprises increased by 400 in a year, reaching 1,500.
