Uzbekistan Airports has implemented a new system to streamline vehicle arrivals at the domestic airline terminal, "Tashkent-3".
The system envisages creating three separate lanes designated for official airport taxis, tourist buses and minibusses, and cars staying for a duration of up to 5 minutes.
A lane for greeting and farewell has also been established and will operate as an overpass in the international airline terminal. It will be monitored by cameras that will issue fines to any violators who exceed the allotted time limit.
The reconstruction of the forecourt is set to be completed in August, as outlined in Cabinet Resolution on April 17, 2023.
Uzbekistan Airports is committed to reconstructing the forecourts of all international airports in Uzbekistan by January 1, 2024.
Earlier, Daryo reported that Tashkent International Airport in Uzbekistan experienced a 40% increase in passenger traffic during the first half of this year, with a total of 4.7mn passengers. The capital's airport alone saw a 40% increase, reaching 3mn passengers. Projections for the year's end anticipate an additional 4.5mn passengers.
