The capitals of Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Georgia can be connected by a single high-speed passenger train.
In particular, a high-speed passenger train from Baku to Tbilisi and Ankara is being considered, according to Azer Farajov, the Executive Head of the Passenger Transportation Department of Azerbaijan Railways.
The passenger cars manufactured by Stadler Rail Group may be of the sleeping type.
According to a spokesperson, "As part of our post-pandemic measures, a high-speed passenger train on the Baku-Tbilisi-Ankara route, consisting of sleeping-type passenger cars manufactured by Stadler Rail Group, can be launched."
Before the pandemic, it was possible to take the Tbilisi-Baku train, but currently, Azerbaijan has closed its land borders. Flights remained the only option.
