Kazakhstan's Ministry of Culture and Sports has recently revealed that tourists from Germany, the USA, the Republic of Korea, and India typically spend four days in the Central Asian country.
On average, Russian citizens stay in Kazakhstan for six days, followed by Belarusians for five days, Germans for four days, and Chinese for 3.5 days.
Uzbekistan citizens tend to have the longest stay in Kazakhstan, averaging ten days, the statement reads.
The eQonaq information system has registered some 3,214 businesses providing accommodation services.
The government of Kazakhstan has set ambitious goals for the tourism industry, including increasing the number of domestic tourists to 11mn people, foreign tourists to 4mn people, and employment in the industry to 800,000 people.
According to the WEF rating, the country also aims to rank among the top 50 countries in the world for tourism development.
To achieve these goals, the Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan, Askhat Oralov, emphasizes the importance of developing tourism products, infrastructure, and brands to increase recognition of Kazakhstan and attract more tourists to different regions of the country.
Earlier, Daryo reported that Kazakhstan has experienced a surge in foreign tourism this summer with over triple the number of visitors compared to last year. The majority of tourists came from CIS countries, comprising 72% of total arrivals.
Almaty has been the most popular destination for tourists, with 77,000 visitors, followed by Astana with 38,000, and Almaty region and Mangistau with 19,049 and 15,062 visitors, respectively.
