During a recent intergovernmental commission meeting for cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, plans were announced for Uzbekistan to provide some scholarships to students from Kyrgyzstan.
The session focused on education and science and was chaired by the First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations, Komiljon Karimov.
One of the top priorities discussed was signing an agreement to recognize higher and post-graduate diplomas, which both parties agreed to collaborate on.
Besides, Uzbekistan expressed its commitment to offering scholarships to Kyrgyzstan students who wish to study there, with 100 scholarships allocated for the academic year 2024-2025.
The commission also discussed plans for a forum of rectors from universities in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, which will be held in Osh at the Kyrgyz-Uzbek University in October 2023.
