The Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan is actively engaged in a series of initiatives aimed at expanding international collaborations and attracting investments to bolster the country's educational landscape. These endeavors reflect the government's commitment to modernizing educational infrastructure and fostering global partnerships, Daryo correspondent reported.
One of the notable accomplishments in this regard is the successful completion of a collaborative project with the Chinese government.
"The total cost of the project 'Improving the quality of foreign language and computer science teaching in grades 5-9' implemented in cooperation with China was $12 mn. 1,303 secondary schools were equipped with computer training equipment at the expense of the appropriated investment funds. Within this project, 20,848 computers, 1,303 projectors, electronic boards and printers were brought to Uzbekistan. At the moment, we work on installing these educational equipment in secondary schools of our republic," said the representative of the ministry.
Furthermore, the Ministry is spearheading two significant projects in cooperation with Korea Eximbank. The first project, valued at $33 mn, focuses on fully equipping 3,810 Uzbekistan secondary schools with computer educational equipment. The second project, with a total worth of $140 mn, centers on equipping physics, chemistry, biology, and informatics classrooms in secondary schools with modern teaching and laboratory equipment, as well as enhancing information and communication technologies.
Sanjar Tursunov, the head of the department at the Ministry, emphasized the ministry's ongoing efforts to bolster international cooperation projects and attract additional investments to further elevate the educational system. He announced that information about several new projects will be disclosed in the near future.
Among the upcoming projects, there is a grant-based initiative in collaboration with the Indian embassy in Tashkent. This project aims to equip secondary schools in the Syrdarya region with computer training equipment. A grant of $1 mn will be allocated for this endeavor, which holds the potential to significantly enhance the educational experience in the region.
