During a video-conference meeting in Bukhara on August 11, Shavkat Mirziyoyev criticized the failure to achieve the energy-saving plan in several regions.
To address the energy supply deficit, research was conducted in each district and city in April, based on which regional programs were adopted to save 4.5 bn cubic meters of gas and 7.5 bn kilowatt-hours of electricity.
However, as highlighted in the meeting, significant results had not been achieved in many areas and sectors, and leaders left these tasks at their discretion, stating that there was "no demand."
Particularly, Tashkent region consumed 40 mn cubic meters more, Tashkent city 19 mn more, Samarkand 13 mn more, Khorezm 3.5 mn cubic meters more than planned. Andijan, Bukhara, Jizzakh, Namangan, Samarkand, Syrdarya, Tashkent region, Fergana, and no districts of Tashkent city failed to meet the electricity-saving plan.
It was shown that the leaders of the energy complex struggle to systematically organize these efforts on the ground.
Furthermore, significant progress has been achieved in Uzbekistan in the development of "green energy" and the widespread implementation of energy-saving technologies in the economy due to the growing global importance of energy resource conservation.
Previously Daryo.uz has reported that Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the decree "On measures to introduce the system of green energy certificates" which is conferred on the production of electricity based on renewable sources.
