On August 11, Ulugbek Egamov, the Director of the Agency, engaged in a productive video conference with Abdul Bori Umar, the Chairman of the National Food and Drug Administration of Afghanistan (AFDA), to deliberate on bilateral cooperation. This development was communicated by the press service of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency.
During the virtual meeting, the two parties tackled various matters of mutual interest. Uzbekistan introduced proposals aimed at bolstering collaboration between pharmaceutical enterprises and the public procurement of medicines in Afghanistan.
Moreover, Uzbekistan presented a concept to establish a dedicated showcase for the nation's pharmaceutical products within Afghanistan. This initiative is envisioned to promote the visibility and accessibility of Uzbek pharmaceutical goods within the Afghan market. Furthermore, the need to expedite the registration process for Uzbek drugs in Afghanistan was also underscored.
As the negotiations concluded, both sides exhibited a favourable response to the proposition of forming a collaborative technical working group. This group's primary objective would be to formulate comprehensive proposals and facilitate the exchange of pertinent information. The composition of this working group is expected to be finalised shortly.
