Earlier, it was reported that the devaluation of the Russian ruble led to a decrease in money transfers to Uzbekistan. The Chairman of the Central Bank, Mamarizo Nurmuradov, stated that the Russian ruble had devalued by 26% since the beginning of 2023.
"The Russian ruble has depreciated by 26% since the beginning of this year. First of all, this has a negative impact on the volume of money transfers from the country to Uzbekistan. That is, money transfers from Russia to Uzbekistan account for about 80% of the total volume of foreign receipts. For example, $6.5 bn was transferred in 6 months of 2022, and about $5.1 bn was transferred in six months of this year. The depreciation of the ruble affects the decline in our revenues"
